If you have received a penalty charge notice (PCN) or other parking fine while parked in a private space you booked through Stashbee, should let your Host know straight away by sending them a message in the booking chatroom.
Renters and Hosts are jointly responsible for managing PCNs, as well as informing Stashbee of the outcome.
Firstly, check the reason for the PCN and check the parking restrictions and instructions to ensure you were parked correctly. If not, you are responsible for paying the PCN - we recommend you pay the fine quickly to avoid further action/increased costs.
If you believe the PCN is issued incorrectly, as the owner of the vehicle, you are responsible for challenging this directly with the parking authority. We recommend always doing this as soon as possible as the lower fee is often frozen while the PCN is challenged. If you lose the challenge, you may still be responsible for paying the PCN.
If the PCN is received for another reason, that you believe is not your fault, but has correctly been issued - i.e. the Host has given you a permit, but the PCN has still been issued; you will still be responsible for settling the PCN, before seeking compensation directly from the Host.
Remember, the authority giving the PCN is only interested with the registered keeper of the vehicle, not the Host, so we recommend you take advantage of the lower fees offered for paying quickly.
We would also highly recommend taking a photo of the PCN, along with a photo of how your vehicle was parked in the space. Stashbee can provide guidance and support if needed, please get in contact with us, here.
Remember
Stashbee does not issue parking fines, we are not a parking authority that has jurisdiction on the issue of penalty charge notices, and cannot cancel them directly.
We can look at your PCN issue and help you in providing clarity on why it was issued. We need images of the front and back of the PCN to do this.
